Well, well, well. That time is almost here. Only one month to go till showtime. There are still some details that need ironed out, but we are getting there. In addition the the current line up, it is likely that we will be adding two more bands to the show. I’ll tell you more once that is finalized. I am also still working on the homebrew demo, so keep your fingers crossed on that cause I am sure it is something you will all enjoy.
I am also working on getting a few sponsors to help pay the bills. So far Team Health and De Lazy Lizard are on board. Muchos Gracias to them for helping make Raven Rock Jam ’09 a success. If anyone out there is interested in becoming an official sponsor, contact me at traviscwv at yahoo dot com.
Like I said in my previous update, we will be requesting a $10 donation from everyone to help cover the costs of this event, and I am happy to announce that 100% of the profits from those donations will be given to Friends of Deckers Creek. Friends of Deckers Creek works to revitalize the Deckers Creek watershed and to restore the creek to a viable aquatic habitat. Through their successes, residents are seeing the possibility of fishing and swimming in the creek once more.
In addition to helping support a good cause like FODC, this $10 donation gets you access to free food, drinks, swimming, camping, entertainment, and more.
In addition to donating our proceeds to FODC, we are also trying to give back to our community by collecting non-perishable food items for a local Morgantown food bank. So if you have any extra cans of green beans or tomato soup laying around, please bring them with you.
For this weekend, we will all come together for a celebration of music, life and family. However we must keep the well being of all as a top priority. To ensure that everyone has a fantastic time here at Raven Rock Jam. Please keep these simple rules in mind to help keep everyone safe and happy. Remember that what you do as an individual can impact us as a whole.
Please…
-
Respect our neighbors and our land
-
Appropriately dispose of all trash & cigarette butts
-
Park in designated areas only
-
Place all glass and cans into the recycling bins
-
Use your head and don’t do anything stupid
Remember that even though Raven Rock Jam takes place on a our own 10 acres of land, we are in a neighborhood and that without the cooperation and kindness of our neighbors, Raven Rock Jam would not be possible. Many of these neighbors will be attending, so if you meet one of them, be sure to say thanks!
